  • How is Nan Pao adapting to trends in flexible displays and semiconductor packaging?

Main Topic

Nan Pao Resins Chemical Group hosted a crucial seminar today, focusing on the development trends in electronic products, particularly high-frequency materials, optical adhesives, and semiconductor application adhesives. As emerging technologies such as 5G/6G communications, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and autonomous driving continue to evolve quickly, the demand for high-frequency materials is rising significantly. Chairman Wu Chenghsien expresses optimism about this growth trajectory.

The seminar showcased various advanced applications of optical and semiconductor adhesives, designed to help overcome challenges faced by the display and semiconductor packaging industries. Among these products are adhesives for polarizing plates, flexible adhesives, UV release adhesives suitable for semiconductor wafer cutting and packaging, and adhesives for high-frequency CCL used in PCB processes.

Moreover, with the trend towards flexible displays and miniaturization in chip packaging, Nan Pao has developed adhesives that meet multiple criteria, including low modulus, anti-warping, and anti-static properties. Presently, the revenue from adhesives for semiconductors and other electronic fields constitutes about 1-2% of the company's total revenue. Nan Pao sees this as a new growth driver and plans to increase resource allocation accordingly.

As 5G takes root and the deployment of 6G by 2030 and beyond approaches, there will be a massive demand for high-end materials with ultra-low signal loss characteristics, such as polyether ether ketone (PEEK), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and liquid crystal polymer (LCP). These materials are set to trigger a new wave of material upgrades.

Recently, Nan Pao has been proactively promoting its "NextGen" strategy, which involves collaborating with leading clients in key industries to co-develop next-generation products. This initiative already sees applications in various sectors, such as footwear, semiconductors, and woodworking. The company aims to stabilize its shareholder returns, specifically targeting a long-term return on equity (ROE) of over 20% by increasing the proportion of high-margin innovative products.
