The ASE Group, known globally for its semiconductor packaging and testing services, has been recognized with the 2024 PwC Sustainability Impact Award for its outstanding \"ASE Ocean Conservation Plan.\" Launched in 2021, the initiative has successfully trained more than 150 eco-divers and organized over 140 ocean clean-up operations, making a tangible contribution to marine conservation efforts. This project, focusing primarily on the removal of underwater debris, collaborates with six dive shops across Taiwan. By offering professional \"Eco-Diver Training Programs,\" these courses not only extend beyond the standard diving certifications but also integrate ecological conservation knowledge to ensure that coral reefs and other marine ecosystems remain unharmed during clean-up efforts. Since its inception, the program has drawn over a thousand participants, rejuvenated 540 coral colonies, and cleaned 270 coral bricks, underscoring a significant contribution to oceanic ecological preservation. This endeavor aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of Life Below Water (SDG14) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG17). As a global leader in semiconductor packaging services, ASE continues to focus on water resource issues, aiming to expand the project's scale and deepen the development and promotion of marine conservation technologies. Established in 2017, the PwC Sustainability Impact Award is a prominent sustainability and creativity benchmark in Taiwan, evaluated based on project impact, storytelling, and innovation.
