Wistron, a major player in the production industry, has initiated the groundbreaking ceremony for an ambitious Research & Development (R&D) building in Taipei's Neihu district. This important event was led by Lin Chien-hsung, CEO of Wistron, and received special attendance from Taipei's Mayor, Chiang Wan-an, who voiced his hopes for the project's success.

The new R&D building, projected to be completed by 2028, represents a substantial investment of less than 2.7 billion TWD. This development aims to help create 1,500 job opportunities specifically for research engineers, highlighting a significant boost in employment within the technology sector.

The future building is situated in the Tammei section, Neihu, encompassing four plots of city-owned land. Wistron secured the land leasing rights earlier this year, with plans for an 8-story above ground and a 4-story underground structure, totaling a floor area of approximately 93,845 square feet.

The anticipated structure is strategically positioned to expand the existing tech landscape, promising to serve as a vital component of Taipei's AI technology corridor. This corridor aims to intertwine with nearby tech hubs like the Neihu Technology Park, Nangang Software Park, and the North Taipei Science Park.
